Anchoring in the Present Moment

OVERVIEW

Welcome to this 15-minute introduction to mindfulness meditation. Mindfulness is about paying attention to your present-moment experience with a sense of openness, curiosity, and care. We’ll start by arriving in the present moment and getting grounded in the body. Then I’ll guide you in a foundational mindfulness practice exploring two helpful tools—using a mindful anchor like the breath or sounds in your environment, and using a light mental noting practice to notice when the mind has wandered and gently bring your attention back to the present moment. Before we end, we’ll take a few moments to check in with how you’re feeling and set an intention before transitioning back into the rest of your day.
