Join us on the weekend of the Summer Solstice for a conscious cannabis ceremony with the Portland Integration Network. Together, we’ll create a sacred space for a group psychedelic journey to celebrate the cycles of nature and honor the light within.
DETAILS
Who: Open to the Portland Integration Network (PIN) community, including our family, friends, and colleagues. Registration is limited to 10 participants to keep the experience intimate.
When: Saturday, Jun 21, from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. Pacific. The ceremony will begin at 1:30 and last around 3 hours, followed by a community potluck.
Where: This event will take place at Dancing Tree in Corbett, OR. We are very grateful to Kathryn and Scott Kloos for allowing us to gather on their land.
Cost: There is no charge for participating in this event. However, participants are encouraged to consider donating to an organization that supports Indigenous resistance and sovereignty, such as the Indigenous Peoples Power Project, and to Dancing Tree, the intentional community that is hosting the ceremony.
Cannabis use is entirely optional. If you choose to imbibe, you will need to provide your own cannabis. Participants will receive a preparation guide including information about purchasing supplies.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The ceremony will last approximately 3 hours and include:
Opening circle and intention setting
Cannabis imbibing ceremony
Guided meditation, breath awareness, and somatic resourcing practices
Curated music to support inner journeywork*
Time for grounding, reflection, and optional group sharing
After the closing circle, we’ll share a community potluck, with the event wrapping up between 5:30 - 6:00 p.m.
*Inner journeywork refers to the intentional practice of turning inward with mindfulness to explore your thoughts, emotions, memories, beliefs, body sensations, and other aspects of self. It’s a process of self-inquiry and healing that often involves altered states of consciousness—whether through meditation, breathwork, psychedelics, or somatic awareness—to access deeper layers of your inner world. It’s called “journeywork” because it’s not just passive reflection—it’s an active, unfolding experience that requires presence, courage, and a willingness to engage with what arises internally. SAFETY AND TRANSPORTATION
Participants will be asked to complete a psychedelic safety self-assessment prior to the event. The facilitators are available to speak with anyone who has questions or concerns about whether this event is right for them.
Participants who consume cannabis will need to arrange transportation to and from the event. Cannabis affects your coordination, perception, and reaction time, making it unsafe to operate a vehicle while under its influence. We encourage ride sharing and will be happy to put interested participants in touch with each other to self-organize.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This event incorporates ceremonial plant medicine practices inspired by Indigenous wisdom and traditions that have, at times, been appropriated in modern contexts. Our approach is grounded in respect, appreciation, and solidarity. While there is no charge for this event, participants are encouraged to consider donating to the Indigenous Peoples Power Project, or to any other organization supporting Indigenous resistance and sovereignty.
ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
This event will be co-facilitated by Kip Williams and Kenya Zappa. We met during our psychedelic guide training with the Center for Medicinal Mindfulness. Our cohort included students from all over the world, so we were delighted to meet each other and learn that we live in the same neighborhood—just a short walk from each other’s houses! We became fast friends, connecting through our shared values, ethics, and respect for the medicine. This will be our first time guiding a group ceremony together.
You can read more about Kip here. Please note that while Kip is a licensed therapist, this event is not a therapy offering. This event is intended for celebration, self-exploration, and community building, and it is not a substitute for mental health treatment.
